Mid-Atlantic Surgical Systems, Elite Orthopedics Named Top Workplaces
Representatives and Technology Consultants work in Elite Orthopedics’ laboratory. Elite Orthopedics was named a Top Workplace by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch recently, based on surveys measuring employee engagement, workplace culture, satisfaction with leadership and more.
Congratulations to Mid-Atlantic Surgical Systems and Elite Orthopedics. Both were named to the list of Top Workplaces by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and St. Louis Dispatch, respectively.
The honor came after results were tabulated from employee surveys measuring employee engagement, workplace culture, leadership and more. The survey was administered by Energage, a research firm specializing in organizational health and workplace improvement.
This was the third year Mid-Atlantic Surgical Systems was named a top workplace, having made the list for the first time in 2016 in the No. 4 spot. Mid-Atlantic Surgical was named to the No. 3 spot on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s list.
Mid-Atlantic Surgical Systems President Dave Hawkins accepts the Top Workplace award in 2017. The agency recently won the distinction of Top Workplace by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for the third year in a row.
Agency Principal Dave Hawkins said, “At Mid-Atlantic, we recognize that a strong workplace culture is critical to our future. We have a group that is talented, dedicated, driven and, most importantly, they care about their work and each other. With plans to double in size and when you consider over 35% of our employees have less than 2 years of experience, a strong agency culture will define whether we reach our goal.”
Those plans to expand dramatically in the next 5 years have made maintaining its award-winning workplace culture a top priority for Mid-Atlantic. Dave added, “The Top Workplace award was a tremendous honor for our group and simply a reflection of our positive environment. I feel fortunate to work with such a great team.”
This was the first year Elite Orthopedics participated in the survey, said Agency Principal John Purcell, adding that the distinction – landing at No. 67 on a list that includes major Missouri employers like Monsanto and Edward Jones – came as a happy surprise.
“We thought we would have the employees participate in the survey, but we didn’t expect this. It validates that everything I thought we were doing to go above and beyond is being received that way by our employees,” he said. “It shows our employees really love what they do.”
John said the designation has already had a positive impact on the agency’s business and recruitment efforts.
“It’s instant credibility,” he said. “I had two interviews this week with potential employees and both mentioned that they had seen it, either in the paper or on our website. It validates the good work we are doing and makes us a workplace destination for potential candidates.”
Elite Orthopedics plans to continue building out the rest of its new Chesterfield, Missouri, facility and has hired a consultant to help employees with professional development to help maintain its standing as an award-winning workplace.
“We want our employees to know they always have opportunities with us to grow financially, to grow personally, to grow in their careers,” he said. “I am proud of the camaraderie we have built in this agency, and I want my employees to know that we want to provide them with all of the resources they need to help surgeons treat their patients better.”
