DESCRIPTION
 

The course will provide attendees with the right tools to diagnose and treat a range of knee and shoulder pathologies. This being tailor-made to tackle the most common arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgeries and will display innovative surgical treatment options based on the newest clinical evidence. 

The attendees will hear talks on current concepts, engage in lively discussions with faculty and their peers.


Surgeons attending this course should have at least 3 years’ experience in this field and perform at least 80 shoulder and knee arthroscopies per year, independently.
 
Dr. Chih-Hao Chiu
Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan


Dr. Chiu serves as associate professor and chief attending physician at division of sports medicine, Linkou Branch Orthopaedic Department Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou Medical Center. Dr Chiu achieved his PhD at Chang Gung University and completed his fellowship training under Dr. Alexander Lädermann in Switzerland. His major clinical interests are shoulder and knee arthroscopy, joint replacement and relevant biological therapy, with 400+ surgeries annually. Dr. Chiu is actively engaged in laboratory and clinical research, and, together with his team, has published over 90 peer-reviewed papers. He is the reviewer for several sports medicine related journals such as AJSM, OJSM, KSRR, BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders. Apart from that, Dr Chiu is an active member of multiple professional societies, e.g. TOA, APKASS, AANA, SICOT, etc.
Dr. Deborah Huang
Singapore General Hospital, Singapore


Dr. Huang is a Consultant Orthopedic surgeion at Singapore General Hospital and has a special interest in shoulder injuries. She has won several medical awards including Outstanding Resident Award, AO Trauma Asia Pacific Fellowship Award. Dr. Huang is appointed as Clinical Instructor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Clinical Mentor at NUS Medical School.
Dr. Hamid Razak
Total Orthopedic Care, Singapore 


Dr. Razak is a consultant orthopedic surgeon with more than 15 years of experience. He is well fellowship trained in sports medicine and knee preservation, completed research and clinical fellowships at Imperial College London and the London Knee Osteotomy Centre. He also won two travelling fellowships and completed the training in Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, UK and other famous sites in Europe performing state-of-the-art joint preserving procedures. Dr. Razak is an Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. Prior to private practice, Dr Hamid was the lead for the Sports & Joint Preserving Osteotomy Services at Sengkang General Hospital. He was also the site chief for the SingHealth Sports & Exercise Medicine Centre. Dr Razak has a keen interest in clinical research having published over 100 peer-reviewed articles.
